日前，泉州五中国际部六位同学在老师余睿，Stephen的带领下，去往广州佛山参加2014年ASDAN模拟商赛(ASDAN Business Simulation)。ASDAN全称“英国素质教育发展认证中心”，得到英国教育部课程局(QCA)和高等院校招生办(UCAS)的授权，为各国中学生提供素质教育项目课程开发和课外活动认证。全球每年有6000所学校20万名学生参加由ASDAN组织和认证的各类素质教育项目中，为全球最有影响力的素质教育机构之一。
在模拟商赛中，选手们有一定的初始资本，然后主办方会给出商品项目。选手们需要设计产品，雇佣工人和采购原料进行生产，还需在各地设立经销商帮助销售，在消费者面前展示自己的产品。在两天的时间里，泉州五中国际部学生积极准备，认真思考。他们充分锻炼了自身的能力，赢得了主办方和其他参赛队伍的高度评价。
正如主办方ASDAN中国所说： “The ASDAN Business Simulation has been created in an effort to help the aspiring business leaders and entrepreneurs of tomorrow grasp a better logistical and strategic understanding of how to run a business. During the simulation students will be actively involved in creating and deciding on every aspect of their business from their company culture to their production needs. The interactive aspect of the simulation is a great way for students to get involved in thinking about the practicalities of running a business. At ASDAN we believe that “how” we learn is as important as “what” we learn.
